New Liposuction in 2012

2011 has already ended but people’s desire to achieve that gorgeous and sexy body doesn’t seem to die. We have conjured this image in our minds that in order to be considered sexy having a flat and well-toned abdominal area is a must. But, unfortunately, not all of us are gifted with a great body. In fact, many have been battling with those unwanted flab in the tummy area. However, times have indeed changed and achieving that model-like body is now possible through the popular cosmetic procedure, liposuction. Liposuction is a cosmetic treatment that is sought after by body-conscious individuals who have a hard time removing fats via conventional means – diet and exercise.

If you have tried all possible ways to melt the excess fats in your body but failed every time, then you are surely considering going under the knife. While liposuction is a great alternative for people who want to finally eliminate the excess fats in their body and reduce the appearance of cellulites, this procedure comes with a set of pros and cons. But over the years, different kinds of liposuction techniques have been introduced to get better results and to lower down the expected side effects. Techniques of new liposuction in 2012 that offer great potential include mini liposuction and frozen liposuction (also known as cryolipolysis).

Frozen Liposuction
Relatively new in the cosmetic treatment scene, cryolipolysis, also known as frozen liposuction, is a new fat-melting technique ideal for those who are not a fan of the conventional liposuction, which is extremely invasive.  This non-invasive lipo procedure works by freezing the parts of the body where fat accumulates. This is done to encourage weight loss by breaking down the fats in the targeted areas. It is believed that freezing the fats will help in effectively breaking them down. The frozen fats will then melt away and will be naturally eliminated or flushed from the patient’s body.  Deemed as effective and safe, frozen liposuction offers promising results but the downside is that it is only applicable for melting away fats in smaller body regions. And since it is a newly introduced cosmetic treatment, it is still under trial and has yet to be approved by the FDA. Although there are already a few cosmetic clinics offering this liposuction treatment, patients will have to try it at their own risk. It would be a good idea to research more about the procedure first or allow the doctor to explain it further to you to help you decide if it is worth a try or not.

Mini Liposuction
Much more affordable than conventional liposuction is a treatment called as mini liposuction. It is seen an economical alternative to the typical lipo treatment but mini liposuction is only recommended for taking away fats in smaller areas of the body. As the name suggests, this type of lipo treatment is only capable of eliminating small portions of fats. The treatment is less complicated, compared to other liposuction techniques available, and it is also very friendly to the pocket. This new liposuction procedure is ideal for removing fats in the elbows, around the knees, top part of the breast, under the chin and the armpit. Like other new liposuction in 2012, it is advised that you do your homework first and know more about what this particular lipo procedure can offer you. Doing so will give you the peace of mind knowing that you will be undergoing a safe liposuction treatment that can offer you visible results.

Tummy Tuck Prices: Why Do They Vary?

Are you looking for different tummy tuck prices so you can effectively compare them? Good for you. The more there is the better because it would likely mean that you will get the best offer available. However, surgeons seldom give quotes because tummy tuck prices can change in no time especially with new technology and innovation that constantly come out. Prices also vary from patient to patient as well as from country to country.

Basically, the price depends on factors such as the patient’s needs, the type of procedure done, the credibility of the doctor, the clinic’s location, and the facilities of the clinic. Therefore, a tummy tuck cost can range from as low as a few hundreds to a couple of thousands of dollars.

The complexity of the cosmetic procedure will generally depend on the amount of work that needs to be done as well as the patient’s body size. Of course, the larger the size of the patient means that there will be a larger area that needs to be worked on hence a higher fee is expected.

Just like with availing new liposuction treatments, the type of cosmetic technique used is also a factor because there is a difference when it comes to choosing either the traditional method or the newer method like the mini tummy tuck. The traditional tummy tuck method is more expensive because the surgery is more extensive and more invasive. This is the more appropriate choice for patients who require more tissue removal.

Mini tummy tuck prices are less expensive because the procedure is simpler and only involves minor surgery. This mini liposuction like procedure is ideal for patients who only require less tissue removal. Other important factors that you should consider when canvassing prices for tummy tuck procedures include the experience of the doctor as well as the location of the clinic. The more reputable and popular the doctor is, the more expensive it will be for you. As they say, the best always comes with a price, especially if this doctor lives thousands of miles away from you. Other than the costs of the actual procedure, you also need to consider fare and accommodation if you decide to get the procedure done overseas. Moreover, the best doctors also use the best equipment. That, too, is another additional cost for you.

Shopping for tummy tuck prices can be a stressful activity. To lessen the burden, you can ask for referrals or check various web sites where client reviews are dependable and unbiased. Eventually, you will get the best tummy tuck price that works well for your needs and your budget.

Liposuction Pricing And What Makes The Differences

Not sure how liposuction pricing is determined? Well, aside from the obvious factors involved in the procedure – both surgical and non-surgical fees – there are also other parameters that need to be considered. This includes the area or region of the body where you want to have the procedure done, the geographic location of the clinic or hospital where you want to do the liposuction treatment, and the technique that will be used. To equip yourself with the appropriate knowledge about the cost of this popular cosmetic treatment, read on since this article will briefly discuss this aspect.

Liposuction pricing is largely dependent on the area or region of the body where you want fats to be eliminated. Generally, fat removal from the chest and abdomen will cost more as there are more fatty deposits in this area, and they are usually more difficult to operate on. The liposuction price range for a lipo procedure done on the breast, chest and the abdominal area is around $3000 to $7500.

Cost of lipo treatment per body area varies greatly because there are other factors affecting it as well. This includes the location of the clinic and the technique that will be used, which will be discussed later in the article.  Areas from the hips and waist down to the buttocks and thighs usually cost less, which is priced at around $1600 to $5000. Meanwhile liposuction procedures done on the back, arms, and face may costs somewhere around $2000 to $5000.

As mentioned above, liposuction pricing is also affected by the geographical location of the clinic or hospital where the procedure will be performed. A liposuction procedure done in a more densely populated city or state will cost more due to the high demand in the area. It goes to say, too, that a less populated state will have lower rates. It all depends on how much the demand for certain procedures is in the area. Cosmetic clinics located in metropolitan and urban areas will definitely charge higher as compared to those situated in small towns. Also, cosmetic treatments offered in India and other developing countries are much cheaper in comparison to those provided in the US and UK. That said, many consider getting the lipo treatment to save more.

And the last factor affecting the price of liposuction is the type of procedure or technique applied to eliminate fats. This affects the pricing because different procedures make use different equipments. The new liposuction techniques will likely cost less as it uses less equipment (most make use of lasers) and recovery time is significantly less than the lipo treatments using old techniques.

How to Determine Liposuction Costs

Liposuction costs will vary as these will be dependent on a number of different factors. Listed here are the things you will need to take into account when trying to figure out how much the liposuction cost will be.

Consider the laser-assisted technique. If you are looking for relatively affordable liposuction costs, then you should look into the various liposuction techniques practiced these days. Consult with doctors how much a laser liposuction cost will be. More often than not, this technique is much cheaper than the other liposuction methods available today. But of course, like any other cosmetic procedure, the price will vary immensely depending on the clinic where you intend to get the procedure as well as the popularity of the doctor that will be facilitating the laser lipo.

Determine whether the tumescent technique is viable. Procedures that use tumescent liposuction cost more expensive. However, this technique has long been the preferred option of many because of its high success rate and the quick tumescent liposuction recovery period. In addition to that, many cosmetic surgeons are now offering this kind of lipo treatment therefore your chance of finding a good doctor is increased.

Consult a number of cosmetic surgeons. Cosmetic surgeons each have their own system of pricing liposuction procedures. This is why it would be best to seek advice from a number of medical professionals specializing in lipo procedures. Doing so will allow you to obtain detailed liposuction costs from each, which in turn will help you determine which one can provide you with the best offer.

Check the references of all the cosmetic surgeons.  Of course, you should always be prudent when it comes to choosing cosmetic surgeons. Do not immediately settle for a doctor who offers you the lowest liposuction costs. Check the references of each surgeon first so that you know they truly are licensed to perform these medical procedures. Of course, make a thorough check of their backgrounds. You would not want to work with a doctor who has been sued for malpractice or incompetence before, would you?

Check other new liposuction techniques. A new technique in liposuction uses water jets to slowly massage and soften fat deposits so that they are easier to drain from the body. While a relatively new method, this has been noted for a number of benefits to the patients. Check with surgeons regarding this method as well so that you get to be acquainted with all the available options before you make a final decision.

Possible Liposuction Complications

Every surgery has possible risks, and the same is true even with a liposuction treatment. There are several liposuction complications that you need to know and discuss with your doctor. Even new liposuction techniques that use new and advanced technology still have risks involved. One example is Vaser. Although it is safer compared to traditional lipo methods, the use of ultrasonic energy may injure the skin and deeper tissues when used excessively. Other Vaser liposuction complications may include fat and blood clots. Severe forms of these risks can lead to the development of serious illness especially if the fat and blood clots migrate to the lungs.

Several surveys and studies have been done to record and show liposuction complications. One of such survey was conducted by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, which was published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal on May 2001. The survey presented the nonfatal complications from lipoplasty and lipoplasty combination procedures for 94,159 lipoplasty procedures done by ASAPS members from Sept 1, 1998 to through Aug 31, 2000. This include skin slough, ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty burns, deep vein thrombophlebitis, pulmonary embolus, excessive blood loss, fluid overload, fat emboli, cannula penetration of abdominal cavity, lidocaine toxicity, and surgical shock.

It was stated in the survey that there was a 0.0021 percent mortality rate, or 1 death per 47,415 liposuction procedures. Another study conducted by Barillo DJ et al, which is entitled ‘Fatal and Near-Fatal Complications of Liposuction’, presented two cases of extensive necrotizing fasciitis, a very fatal condition. One patient died and the other one required lengthy hospitalization, extensive debridement, and split-thickness skin grafting of 22% of the total body surface area. Although these complications rarely manifest, it is still wise to be informed about the more serious risks involved with such type of fat removal treatment, especially it is one of the most performed cosmetic procedures in many hospitals and clinics these days.

Liposuction complications must be taken seriously. Information and awareness are very vital especially that your body and safety is the subject of the matter. Remember that you are likely to experience these potential dangers and risks, therefore, you have to evaluate things carefully before making a decision. These dangers and risks are heightened if you have several procedures done in one day. You need to understand all the possible risks and how to avoid them. If they are unavoidable, then at least know the probable measures to minimize and remedy these liposuction risks. In this regard, do not hesitate to address your concerns to your surgeon and never be afraid to ask questions. Doing so will allow you to know more about the procedure that you are getting yourself into.
